Our Meetings

Over the past few years BitcoinNorth has brought together a small but thoughtful group of people here in Northern Michigan who are interested in Bitcoin. I’ve really enjoyed the conversations and meeting others locally who are curious about the space.

One of the challenges with a smaller group has been finding a day each month that works for everyone. Schedules are busy, and trying to keep a regular monthly meeting going has proven harder than expected.

So rather than dissolving BitcoinNorth, I’m planning to shift it into a more occasional and informal gathering. Instead of regular monthly meetings, we’ll organize something when there’s real interest, important developments in Bitcoin, or when it simply feels like a good time to get together and talk.

Sometimes a little scarcity actually makes meetups more meaningful.

If interest ramps up again in the future, we can always meet more frequently. For now, think of BitcoinNorth as a local network that gathers when it makes sense rather than on a fixed schedule.

And of course, if someone in the group ever wants to help organize a meetup or spark a gathering around a particular topic or moment in Bitcoin, the space is always open for that.
